Maintaining Accessibility to a Tufts Education
Continue to focus fundraising efforts on financial aid and
graduate fellowship support with the help of the president, provost
and school-based development team.
Develop a five-year forecast for undergraduate financial aid as
well as a strategic plan to increase financial aid supporting
undergraduates in A&S.
Review and update, as necessary, the university's needs
assessment/packaging policies to restore the competitiveness of
Tufts' aid awards in the undergraduate admissions market.
Increased loan replacement policy to family incomes below $60K (was
formerly $40K) to yield more lower-income families. Financial aid
package to international students will now provide annual roundtrip
airfare. We are currently exploring housing options for
international students during school breaks.
Seek and evaluate opportunities to develop NIH training grants for
science graduate students.
Ongoing discussions with the language and cognition program and
neuroscience program to develop and submit training grant proposals.
We are evaluating the possibility of submitting a minority training
grant response to RFP from the NIH.
