Building a Transparent Leadership Model
Model transparent leadership by sharing the school's goals with
internal and external audiences.
- Deans are meeting with individual academic department chairs and
full departments on an ongoing basis.
- A town meeting for staff occurred in October 2012; another is
scheduled for spring 2013.
Academic deans met with the tenure and promotion committee to
evaluate guidelines for interdisciplinary tenure evaluations.
The committee integrated changes into Statement 11.
Empower individuals and develop effective governance structures
throughout the school to engage in and support the A&S mission.
Proposed faculty/administration working groups for 2012 include a
working group on online learning and education and groups examining
facilities needs. The dean met in the fall with chairs of a number
of faculty committees including budget & priorities, the executive
committee, research, facilities & grounds, and athletics to review
goals for the new academic year. Faculty roundtables are planned for
spring 2013.
