Tufts Alumnus David Burke

The David Burke Internship
The David Burke summer internship is a competitive, application-only position that places the award recipient in a major news organization such as WBUR in Boston or ABC News in New York; the intern receives a stipend for his or her work. This internship was established in honor of Tufts alumnus David Burke, A57, as a tribute to his career in public service and media, and to his commitment to mentorship and experiential learning. Mr. Burke passed away in 2014. Read about his many accomplishments in obituaries published in both The Boston Globe and The New York Times.

Recent Burke Internship Recipients:

  • Hadley Green, A15 is now working as a freelance digital media producer and journalist.
  • Peter Balonon-Rosen, A14. His summer stint led to a job at WBUR's learning lab.
  • Brionna Jimerson, A13, She is currently working as a digital news producer at ABC News in New York.
  • Joshua Berlinger, A12. He now works as a cross-platform associate producer for CNN.
  • Jessica Bidgood, A10. She is now a reporter for The New York Times.

CJ Saraceno, A11

The CJ Saraceno Internship
The C.J. Saraceno Los Angeles Internship Fund provides financial support and transformational experiences to enterprising, creative Tufts students who would otherwise not have a chance to work in Los Angeles. The internship was established in memory of C.J. Saraceno, A11, a passionate creator who challenged the status quo. The scholarship is funded by alumni, friends, and family members who cared about C.J. – as well as those who were inspired by him.
