Community Music Program

Tufts Summer Music

The Tufts Community Music Summer Music program for kids ages 7-12 will run for two weeks: July 23-27, 2018 and July 30-August 3, 2018 at the Granoff Music Center, 20 Talbot Avenue, Tufts University Medford/Somerville Campus. Students in the program will sing, drum, take instrument lessons and Orff classes. At the end of the two weeks, there will be a concert presented by the students for family and friends in beautiful Distler Performance Hall, and faculty will present a concert for students and families.

Tufts Summer Music is part of the Tufts Community Music Program and the Department of Music. The program will run from 9 am to 3:30 pm each day (with after-care available from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm for an additional fee).

Tuition for the regular program is $395 per week—limited scholarships are available with submission of most recent tax return. Students may attend one week only or both weeks. Lunch is included in the tuition and will be eaten in a Tufts dining hall.

The faculty will include will include Charley Blandy, Jerry Bussiere, Lauren Caso, Noralee Walker, Jeff Rawitsch, Yukiko Sekino, Holly Stumpf, Edie Auner, and Tufts student musicians. Learn more about the instructors.

*During these two hours, all students will take an Orff class for one of the hours, then either drumming, violin, piano, or recorder (student's choice) for the other hour.
