David Coleman
Lecturer of Music. Director of Gospel Choir. B.Mus. in piano
performance and composition, Boston University, 1993. M.A. in
composition, Tufts University, 2001. Director of Choral Music
at the Dana Hall School, and actively involved in gospel music
for more than 20 years. Founder of the ensemble, Confirmation,
which has recorded four CD's of his original work. Performances
worldwide, including Austria, Greece, Italy, and here at home at
the House of Blues, the Wang Center, and Symphony Hall with the
Boston Pops. Work with choirs for Bobby McFerrin, Patti Labelle,
Phish, and Academy Award Nominee Ryan Gosling.
Leads workshops for the American Choral Directors Association,
and is the 2007 recipient of the Thomas A. Dorsey Award from the
New England Conservatory.
