Summer Music Camp

The Tufts Community Music Summer Music Camp for Kids will run for two weeks:
July 22 - July 26, 2013 and July 29 - August 2, 2013 at the Granoff Music Center, 20 Talbot Avenue, Tufts University Medford/Somerville Campus.

The camp is directed by the Tufts Community Music Program and Department of Music and is for students ages 7-12. The program will run from 9 am to 3:30 pm each day (with after care available from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm for an additional fee).

Tuition for the regular program is $375 per week - limited scholarships available with submission of most recent tax return. Students may attend one week only or both weeks. There will be a concert presented by the students for family and friends in beautiful Distler Performance Hall on August 2, 2013. On July 26, 2013 the faculty will present a concert for students and families.

The faculty will include Charley Blandy, Ian Gendreau, Noralee Walker, Jeff Rawitsch, Yukiko Sekino, Holly Stumpf, Edie Auner, and Tufts student musicians. Learn more about the instructors. Students in the program will sing, drum, take instrument lessons and Orff classes. Lunch is included in the tuition and will be eaten in a Tufts dining hall.

Sample Day Camp Schedule
9 am to 10:15 am	Choral singing group rehearsal
10:15 am to 10:45 am	Snack, rhythm games, group activities
10:50 am to 11:50 am	Instrumental lessons or Orff*
11:55 am to 12:35 pm	Lunch (In the Dewick MacPhie Dining Hall on campus)
12:40 pm to 1:40 pm	Instrumental lessons or Orff*
1:45 pm to 2:15 pm	Break
2:15 pm to 3:15 pm	African drumming group rehearsal
3:15 pm to 3:30 pm	Wrap Up
*During these two hours, all students will take an Orff class for one of the hours, then either drumming, violin, piano, or recorder (student's choice) for the other hour.
