Performing Ensembles – Early Music Ensemble (EME)

Instrumentarium

Tufts owns six violas da gamba (two of each size - treble, tenor and bass), a Renaissance lute, and a Renaissance harp.

For winds, EME draws on alto and tenor sackbuts, a cornetto, recorders in all sizes from soprano to great bass, two Renaissance flutes, four krummhorns and a bass cornemuse.

EME also has two Baroque alto recorders, and a Baroque flute.

For keyboard instruments, Tufts owns two harpsichords (double manual Italian and French- style instruments), a chamber organ, and a table organ ('organetto').
