Professor Julian Agyeman given Athena City Accolade Award by the Centre for the Future of Places at KTH
Recognized for his outstanding contribution to the field of social justice and ecological sustainability, Professor Agyeman was awarded one of the first CFP Athena City Accolade Awards. The award is given to distinguished scholars with substantial body of work that during the scope of their career expanded, enriched and advanced the field of interdisciplinary knowledge within urbanism studies and beyond. Professor Agyeman's recent book, Food Trucks, Cultural Identity, and Social Justice: From Loncheras to Lobsta Love (MIT Press), focused on how food trucks enable social justice and community economic development in cities around the world.

Justin Hollander, A'96, Associate Professor, invited as a panelist at AAAS
Justin Hollander, A'96, Associate Professor in the Dept. of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning was an invited panelist at an event last night at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the largest (and by some measures most prestigious) general science organization in the world. The event, "Buildings and the Brain" was part of their Neuroscience and Society Series, co-sponsored with the Dana Foundation. Prof. Hollander spoke about his recent research on this topic and his award-winning book "Cognitive Architecture."
