Welcome
Race and democracy are deeply intertwined, whether we are
discussing the Arab Spring, changing demographics in
European nations, the United States presidential contest, or
municipal elections in Boston. The Center for the Study of
Race and Democracy's mission is to promote engaged research
and scholarship that focus on the ways in which issues of race
and democracy impact the lives of global citizens. Through
interdisciplinary scholarship, technological innovation, and
public symposia, the CSRD seeks to develop an interactive
model of history that fosters a robust intellectual and
civic dialogue on race relations, civil rights, law,
international relations, and democracy at Tufts, in Boston, and
in the wider global community. Learn more >
