Middle School Latin Teachers Workshop

DACA: Supporting Educators to Address the Educational and Social-Emotional Needs of Students and Families
On November 21, 2017, educators from a range of fields came together to share about their work addressing the much needed, complex needs of students and families affected by the repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) act. Following the panel presentations, 50 participants engaged in small group dialogue led by members of the Tisch Dialogue Fellows Program. Conversations will continue next semester.

Understanding and Healing Trauma
November 15, 2017
The Student Programming Committee had their kick-off event on November 15, 2017. Understanding and Healing Trauma was attended by over 50 students, alumni, staff and faculty. The speaker, Anna Kharaz, provided an overview of recognizing trauma in children, provided resources such as trauma sensitive yoga and a trauma toolkit for educators, and answered questions from the audience.
