|Christian Walkes (contact me)
M.A. in Educational Studies
Chris Walkes is interested in a Black Studies protocol for educational research. His current research seeks to understand how macro-level shifts in U.S education policy interact with the sociality of the Black schoolhouse. The highly interdisciplinary nature of the Educational Studies has allowed him to integrate his studies into his roles as the LGBT Center Graduate Intern, Boston Writing Project Advisory Board member, and as well as Equity Consultant and Co-Chair of the Governing Board at a local high school. Following the Educational Studies program he plans on pursuing his research in doctoral study.

|Ariana Hajmiragha (contact me)
M.A. in Educational Studies, 2019
I am currently the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions for the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and School of Engineering here at Tufts University. I am interested in the accessibility of graduate education to all prospective applicants and in linking that access to an equitable on-campus experience, particularly those who have been historically excluded or marginalized in higher education. My experiences within the Educational Studies program and the theories with which I engaged – like Critical Race Theory, critical feminist and gender studies, and sociological approaches to education, to name a few – form the foundation for how I approach my work in and outside of the professional realm.
