Research Interests: 

Dr. Mueller's research program focuses on a developmental approach to understanding human-animal interaction, including both pet ownership and animal-assisted interventions. Her research includes identifying the effects of pet ownership on adolescent development, family functioning, and animal well-being. Her recent work has focused on human-animal interaction and resilience in youth with social anxiety.
