How do you write jokes for the U.S. President? How do you make one of the most powerful men in the world seem snarky and self-effacing, but not mean or malicious? As a senior speechwriter for President Obama and lead joke writer for 4 White House Correspondents’ Dinners, David Litt grappled with these questions firsthand and delivered the goods. Litt wrote about his experiences in his memoir, Thanks Obama: My Hopey Changey White House Years. He is now head writer/producer for Funny or Die.
