[STS Lunch Seminar] Interdisciplinarity, on paper vs. on the ground // Desen Ozkan

Friday, March 5, 2021 - 12:00pm

Mar 5, 2021, 12 – 1:15pm EST

Interdisciplinarity–a recombination of departments, literatures, and research traditions–has been touted as a way to deepen our understanding of complex problems and solve them more practically. However, it takes a great deal of time, effort, and resources to develop interdisciplinary curricula. In this talk, Desen Ozkan (Tufts) will examine what happened on the ground when a group of faculty at a large, public research university embarked on the design of two interdisciplinary courses.
