Children's Choir
Conductor: Senior Lecturer Jamie Kirsch, Director of Choral Activities, Tufts University
Tufts Children's Choir conducted by Jamie Kirsch is open to students in grades 2 through 6, Tufts Children's Choir is a high-quality, treble-voice, welcoming, supportive ensemble dedicated to singing and performing music of all styles, from all parts of the world. Students will also receive musicianship training within the rehearsal, and improve their hearing, listening, pitch-matching, and rhythmic skills at every session.
A native of Merrick, N.Y., Jamie Kirsch is Senior Lecturer and Director of Choral Activities at Tufts University, and Music Director of Chorus pro Musica in Boston. He holds the Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music (2008), where he conducted the prestigious Indiana University Children's Chamber Choir for three years. He also holds degrees from the Yale School of Music and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From 2008-2010 Dr. Kirsch was the Director of Children's Choruses at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.
Dr. Kirsch lives in Arlington with his wife, Dr. Diana Lemly, and their two children, Amelia and Henry.
Auditions: No auditions are required for the spring, 2022 session
