Community Music Program

Tufts Summer Music

The Tufts Community Music Summer Music program for kids ages 7-12 will run for two weeks: July 22-26 and July 29-August 2, 2019 at the Granoff Music Center, 20 Talbot Avenue, Tufts University Medford/Somerville Campus. Students in the program will sing, drum, take instrument lessons and Orff classes. At the end of the two weeks, there will be a concert presented by the students for family and friends in beautiful Distler Performance Hall, and faculty will present a concert for students and families at the end of the first week. Most participants come for both weeks.

Tufts Summer Music is part of the Tufts Community Music Program and the Department of Music. The program will run from 9 am to 3:30 pm each day (with after-care available from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm for an additional fee).

Tuition for the regular program is $410 per week—limited scholarships are available. The program is full for summer 2019 with a long waiting list. Please apply early for summer 2020 - the website is usually updated in December. Lunch is included in the tuition and will be eaten in a Tufts dining hall.

The faculty will include Charley Blandy, Jerry Bussiere, Lauren Caso, Yank'l Garcia, Noralee Walker, Jeff Rawitsch, Yukiko Sekino, Holly Stumpf, Edie Auner, and Tufts student musicians. Learn more about the instructors.
