Biography
Amy Lischko is a former Commissioner of the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy and the Director of Health Care Policy for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Amy served in senior positions in the Commonwealth for over 14 years and was a key member of Governor Mitt Romney's team that designed the state's health care reform law aimed at achieving universal health insurance coverage in Massachusetts. She also spearheaded efforts in the state to increase transparency of provider cost and quality information. She is currently a professor of the practice at Tufts University. She has spoken at many national policy conferences and has provided consulting services to numerous states regarding health care reform planning and implementation activities, policy analysis, program evaluation, quality measurement, cost savings strategies, consumer engagement, and payment and delivery system reform. She also worked on evaluations for the federal government including the SHOP marketplaces for CCIIO and a fraud prevention program for ACL. Amy has been the recipient of grants from the Medical Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Commonwealth Fund to conduct applied research. Amy has broad research interests that include developing and evaluating strategies to increase access to health insurance and to make health care more affordable. She also is interested in increasing consumer engagement in health care decisions and making academic research and evidence more accessible to policymakers.
