DEIJ Statement

I believe great science happens when people bring their own individual enthusiasm, perspectives, skills, and experiences into a community that welcomes and sees value in everyone. There is no one right way to be a scientist. In my research and teaching, and in my lab, I work to create a community of respect that allows everyone to grow, contribute, mature, get and provide helpful and supportive feedback, and cultivate a collegial environment in which we constantly challenge each other to broaden our thinking and help each other succeed as life-long learners along whatever path each of our lives takes us.
