Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership

Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership certificate is designed to quickly familiarize you with the key concepts and important tools you need to successfully lead strategic organizational change. From courses on academic leadership to law and policy, the program is designed to get you up to speed on current issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.  

This four-course program is available entirely online or in a hybrid format (with a combination of online and in-person courses). Both online and in-person courses are offered in the evenings or on weekends, making the program ideal for working professionals.  

After completing the certificate, you can also decide to continue on and pursue the master's degree, as the credits earned towards this certificate will be automatically counted toward earning the MA in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership.*

Curriculum

The certificate requires three core courses and one elective.

Three required courses:

  1. DLS 247: Diversity and Inclusion Leadership 
  2. DLS 248: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Change Leadership and Influence 
  3. DLS 249: Laws, Policies, Politics, and Ethics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

One elective course:

  • DLS 237: Cultural Sensitivity
  • DLS 265: Program Evaluation
  • DLS 293: Facilitation 
  • DLS 293: Communicating with Data
