Program Objectives

The Master of Arts in Diversity and Inclusion Leadership will enable students to do the following:

  • Cultivate an understanding of scholarly theories and emotional skills required to function as a leader in students' chosen fields
    • Attain knowledge of key theoretical foundations in contemporary ideas about diversity and inclusion
  • Implement changes to enhance equality and challenge marginalization
    • Engage in organizational observation using discipline-appropriate methods
  • Prioritize these changes based on the culture and needs of the organization
    • Attain historical context and knowledge of cultural perspectives, understanding biases, and skills and cultural humility necessary to succeed in diverse environments
  • Design and evaluate programs to enact these changes, using appropriate design and evaluation methods
  • Lead organizations through sustainable transformation
    • Master management and resolutions skills, as well as ability to influence people in diverse contexts
