Sugat Dabholkar

Sugat Dabholkar is an Affiliate Research Scientist and a collaborator with Dr. Julia Svoboda. As a Learning Scientist, Sugat works closely with educators to co-design innovative learning environments that support students' sensemaking and epistemic engagement in science. His research investigates how design features of these environments influence students' understanding of what it means to participate in "doing science" and how they construct and validate knowledge in classroom settings. Sugat has also contributed to the development of curricular units that are currently used in schools and colleges across the United States and India.

Susanne Strachota

Susanne Strachota is a Senior Research Associate at Tufts University and a long time collaborator on funded projects with Dr. Brizuela. She studies how students develop mathematical reasoning, specifically algebraic reasoning. She is interested in understanding the kinds of interactions, mental activity, instruction, and concrete tools that support students in making, refining, and justifying mathematical generalizations. Her work spans K-12 but has primarily taken place with elementary school-aged children.
