Welcome to the Department of Education
The Department of Education is a vibrant, interdisciplinary community dedicated to professional practice, applied research, and preparing our students for a variety of careers in education and related fields. Much of our work focuses on K-12 schools, but we study education in many other contexts as well.
The department offers a major and a minor in Education. The major is a co-major only and requires 10 courses that lead to a Bachelor of Arts in Education. The minor requires five courses. Both programs are flexible allowing for students to work with their advisor to develop a program of study that meets their interests.

Research and Outreach
Department faculty and students participate in research projects that are funded by both university and federal grants as well as outreach projects that span internationally.
