Center for Interdisciplinary Studies
The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CIS) helps to foster interdisciplinarity at Tufts by providing forums for faculty, staff and students to present their work, co-curricular programming and sponsorship and advocacy of courses that cross disciplines.
CIS provides administrative oversight and support for the Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Studies program within the School of Arts and Sciences, which is designed for students who wish to craft a major that incorporates at least three different departments or programs. CIS also oversees the senior thesis program for undergraduate students who wish to pursue a thesis in an area that crosses disciplines.
