About
Health quality of life is participation in daily life tasks, activities, and roles in a manner that contributes to individual, familial, societal, and global health and well-being. A bio-psycho-social approach is taken with respect to processes and outcomes of health quality of life.
In the Health Quality of Life Lab at Tufts, researchers and students from different disciplines conduct research in a creative and collaborative environment. The lab’s work focuses on developing knowledge about health quality of life in community living among adults living with disability and aging. Our current focus is on how people with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners manage social living: including participating in activities in the home and community; working with health care providers to manage symptoms and disability; and exchange social support among family, friends and others in their home and community.
