About the Weera Addiction Neuroscience Lab
Our research at the Weera Addiction Neuroscience Lab is focused on elucidating the neurobiological basis of alcohol and substance misuse, and how they interact with environmental factors and emotional states. We utilize a combination of cellular, molecular, and circuit-based approaches to understand behaviors of interest in rodent models.
The long-term goal of our research is to identify novel substrates that may be targeted for the treatment, prevention, and/or diagnosis of alcohol/substance use disorder and related neuropsychiatric conditions.
