Kari Hewitt, LEED AP, ENV SP, is a planner, educator, and consultant. She is currently Director of Client Services with Kim Lundgren Associates, Inc. (KLA). Prior to KLA, she worked as Director of Sustainability for the consulting firm, VHB, where she led the company's She has over a decade of experience leading climate action, sustainability, and resiliency plans for communities, airports, transportation agencies, and other entities. She currently leads KLA's sustainability planning and engagement services. She has facilitated public and stakeholder engagement workshops and technical meetings throughout the country. She has technical experience with energy and GHG analysis, climate vulnerability assessments, and integration of sustainability and resiliency into building and infrastructure design. Her focus is on practical implementation and programmatic approaches to sustainability management. Kari served on the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure's Envision Review Board from 2015-2019 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for New Ecology, Inc, a national non-profit delivering sustainability solutions at the community level. She received her M.A. in Urban & Environmental Policy & Planning from Tufts University and a B.A. in Sociology from Smith College. At UEP, Kari teaches Sustainability Metrics and Decision Tools.
