Welcoming New Faculty to the English Department in 2026

Jordan Green received a PhD in English from Tufts University. She has been a recipient of the Tisch Library Graduate Fellowship in the Arts and Humanities in addition to teaching courses in college writing. Jordan’s research interests include eighteenth-century British literature, the early novel, and the history of science and medicine. Her article on Frances Burney’s Camilla was published in The Burney Journal in June of 2026.

Carlin Mackie-Stephenson is a graduate of the MFA for Poets and Writers at UMass Amherst. His stories and poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Bennington Review, Copper Nickel, and Hobart, among others. He is currently writing a novel about communal trauma in a small town. He has taught college level writing for 15 years, and also has a background in writing center work, having assistant directed the Reading and Writing Center at Westfield State, and coordinated the Writing Center at Massasoit Community College.

Kara McCabe earned her PhD in English from Tufts University. Her research is focused on witchcraft and occult epistemologies during the early modern period. Her most recent publication, titled “Vital Materiality in Ralph Knevet’s Rhodon and Iris,” offers a materialist reading of magical objects in Knevet’s play. She joins us from Emerson College, where she taught literary theory in the Honors Program.
