Biography

Rebecca Forney received her PhD in Comparative Literature from Binghamton University (SUNY). Her dissertation examined the embodied feminism articulated in Algerian author Assia Djebar's work in conversation with Julia Kristeva's concept of the chora as an embodying mechanism. Her chapter "Negotiation/négation of Double Names in Assia Djebar's 'Le Corps de Félicie'" was published in the edited collection, The Many Voices of Europe (De Gruyter 2020, eds. Gisela Brinker-Gabler and Nicole Shea).
