Master's in Leadership

The Masters in Leadership prepares its students to practice expansive and ethical leadership across sectors - civil service, non-profits, education, philanthropy, and corporate organizations. Students can tailor their learning experience, choosing to cover more breadth across topics or dive deeply into one focus area. Core coursework emphasizes leadership theory, systems thinking, and data-driven decision-making, while custom pathways provide opportunities for specialization in applied, skills-based areas.

Programs Requirements and Timelines

The master's program consists of 10 courses for a total of 30 credits. Students all build shared principles in taking the four core courses. Core coursework emphasizes leadership theory, organizational change, and equity frameworks, while focused pathways provide opportunities for specialization in applied, skills-based areas. Students may then choose to pursue one of four Specializations, or design an individualized Custom Pathway by selecting courses across multiple specializations.

All students begin with four foundational courses (12 credits) in leadership studies that build essential skills for leading people and organizations. From there, you can choose to remain on the standard leadership pathway, pursue one of our four specializations, or design your own custom pathway.

Leadership Specializations:

  1. Organizational Learning and Leadership
  2. Sustainable and Impact Investing
  3. Negotiation and Communication
  4. Strategic Planning and Evaluation
