Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership
Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership certificate is designed to quickly familiarize you with the key concepts and important tools you need to successfully lead strategic organizational change. From courses on academic leadership to law and policy, the program is designed to get you up to speed on current issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This four-course program is available entirely online. Courses are offered in the evenings, making the program ideal for working professionals.
After completing the certificate, many of our students apply to the master's degree and transfer all credits they earned from the certificate to the master's.*
*Note: Certificate students must apply for and be accepted to the MA program.

Curriculum
The certificate curriculum is derived from four essential focus areas from our master's program curriculum, also called the Knowledge Competencies (KCs.)
The certificate requires three core courses and one elective.
Three required courses:
- DEIJ 247: Diversity and Inclusion Leadership
- DEIJ 248: Organizational Change, Leadership, and Influence
- DEIJ 249: Laws, Policies, Politics, and Ethics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
One elective course:
- DEIJ 246: Historical Legacies/Awareness in Research/Practice
- DEIJ 254: Negotiation & Conflict Resolution
- DEIJ 255: Intergroup Dialogue Facilitation
- DEIJ 256: Research in Action
- DEIJ 266: Interpreting and Communicating with Data
