Arielle Galinsky

Inspired by her grandmother's struggle to access affordable healthcare, Tufts Student Body President Arielle Galinsky, A24, spent the summer in DC working on healthcare policy initiatives. As a congressional intern, she investigated the history of hospice fraud, researched the impact of nursing home staffing shortages, and examined the impact of health savings accounts on vulnerable populations. "While I always kept my head high, never in my wildest dreams did I think that I ... would be working on Capitol Hill, helping to shape healthcare policy for one of the most powerful communities in Congress, the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee," she reflects.

At Tufts, Galinsky is an active member of the community. As the Student Body president, she has championed initiatives to improve food insecurity, menstrual equity, and mental well-being on campus. She also serves as the curator for TedXTufts and previously led Tufts Best Buddies and TuftsNeuro Network. She is also the founder of The Legacy Project, an organization connecting Tufts students to elders in their local community.

Galinsky is profiled in the Fall 2023 issue of Public Service Review. Read more about her work in DC and time at Tufts here.
