Admission to Our Program

The Tufts Postbac Premed Program is highly selective. We aim to keep our program small and admit students who we believe will succeed here. We consider all aspects of a student's candidacy and typically admit about a quarter to a third of our applicant pool.

Application Cycle

We have two application periods: the Early Action Period and the Regular Application Period. Applications are accepted starting approximately 6 weeks before each deadline (see below). The online application is only available during the indicated timeframe for each application period. Please note that we do not review applications on a rolling basis or after the deadlines.

View common timelines for completion of the program based on your start date.

Program Start: Fall (late August/early September)

Early Action Period

(Intended for applicants who have already earned an undergraduate degree.)

  • Application Opens: January 1
  • Application Deadline (Application closes until Regular Application Period): March 1
  • Decisions Released: April 1

Regular Application Period

(Students currently enrolled at a college or university, regardless of degree/program, should apply during this period.)

  • Application Opens: April 15
  • Application Deadline (Application closes until following year's Early Action Period) : June 1
  • Decisions Released: July 1

It is essential that your application includes the most up-to-date information about you. Details such as time spent working or volunteering in a healthcare setting, final grades, or other experiences that may impact your essay and career plans should be reflected in your application. Please note that we do not offer deferrals of admission.
