Admission to Our Program

The Tufts Postbac Premed Program is a highly selective program. We aim to keep our program small, and we admit students who we feel will be successful here. We consider all aspects of a student's candidacy and typically admit a quarter to a third of our applicant pool.

Application Cycle

We have two application periods, the Early Action Period and the Regular Application Period.  We accept applications approximately 6 weeks before each deadline (see below). The online application is only available during the timeframe indicated for each application period. We do not review applications on a rolling basis.

View common timelines for completion of the program based on your start date.

Program Start: Fall (early-Sept)

Early Action Period (Intended for applicants who have already earned an undergraduate degree.)

  • Application Opens: January 1
  • Application Deadline (Application closes until Regular Application Period): March1
  • Decisions Released: April 1

Regular Application Period (Students currently enrolled at a college or university, regardless of degree/program, should apply during this period.)

  • Application Opens: April 15
  • Application Deadline (Application closes until following year's Early Action Period) : June 1
  • Decisions Released: July 1

It is very important that an application includes the most up-to-date information about the applicant.  Items such as time spent working or volunteering in a healthcare setting, final grades, or other experiences that may impact your essay and new career plans need to be reflected in your application. Please note that we do not offer deferrals of admission.
