Aditya (AJ) Jayashankar

Biography

AJ graduated with a PhD in Occupational Science from the University of Southern California in 2024. He also holds a MSc in Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience from the University of Sheffield, UK (2015) and a BTech in Biotechnology from VIT University, India (2013). AJ conducted research at the Brain and Creativity Institute, studying neurobiological correlates of sensori-motor and socio-emotional behavior in autistic youth. Additionally, AJ has worked at the Cognitive Neuroscience Centre at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in India, studying functional neuroimaging biomarkers underlying autism, AD, epilepsy, and motor disorders.

Current Research: Functional neuroimaging of socio-emotional processing (fMRI), effect of experiences with racial discrimination on mental and physical health
Future Plans: Professionally, pursue neuroscientific research in clinical and neurodiverse populations and mentoring students. Recreationally, travel the world and food tourism.
