Marissa Marko Lee
Biography
Marissa received her PhD from American University in Washington DC under the mentorship of Dr. Catherine Stoodley. While at AU, she studied the cerebellum’s role in cognition and developmental disorders using NIBS and neuroimaging techniques.
Lab: Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences
Advisors: Dr. Holly Taylor, Dr. Tad Brunye
Area of study: Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS), dyslexia, cerebellum
Current Research: Marissa is currently investigating how NIBS can enhance cognitive functions and alleviate stress in typically developing, healthy persons. She is also interested in how clinical populations may use these devices in multiple aspects of their lives—from improving cognitive difficulties to assisting in navigating their environment.
Future Plans: Marissa hopes to continue working with neuromodulatory devices in a wide range of populations to help determine the most efficient and effective methods of application.
