TUAG Fall Exhibitions

TUAG is hosting two new exhibitions: "How do you throw a brick through a window…" and "Beverly Semmes: Boulders/Flag/Flip/Kick"
brick through window

This fall, TUAG is hosting two exhibitions: How do you throw a brick through a window… at 230 Fenway in Boston through November 9 and Beverly Semmes: Boulders/Flag/Flip/Kick at 40 Talbot Avenue in Medford through November 23.

How do you throw a brick through the window… presents new commissions and recent works of art exploring how individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and neurodivergence navigate forms of protest despite the normalization of ableism in public spaces.

Beverly Semmes: Boulders/Flag/Flip/Kick is the most comprehensive survey of Tufts/SMFA alumna Beverly Semmes' work to date: beginning in her student days at Tufts, where she tested ideas of ephemerality, scale, and representation in the itinerate installation Boulders, to her most recent fabric installations, ceramics, and paintings that continue to explore issues of female visibility and presence.

The exhibitions have been featured in different media outlets, including Hyperallergic, WBUR, Tufts Now, Boston Art Review's Fall Highlight, Art Daily, and e-flux.
