Master of Arts
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences provides information on applying to graduate programs, tuition and financial aid, application requirements and deadlines, and more information about the admissions process.
The program, which can be completed in a year, usually leads to a secondary school teaching position or to a doctoral program at a major university, although several of our graduates have followed other careers. Scholarship assistance is available.

Master of Arts in French
We offer a Master of Arts in French, requiring ten semester courses; two of these may be Independent Studies, guided by a Faculty adviser, in preparation for a general examination.The program, which can be completed in a year, usually leads to a secondary school teaching position or to a doctoral program at a major university, although several of our graduates have followed other careers. Scholarship assistance is available.
Deadlines for application to the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GSAS) are:
- February 15 for matriculation in the Fall Term
- October 15 for matriculation in the Spring Term

Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish
The Department of Romance Studies collaborates with the Tufts Department of Education, which offers a Master of Arts in Teaching degree with concentration in either French or Spanish.For further information, contact the designated Graduate Advisor to the Education Department.
