Welcome to the Department of Romance Studies
The Department of Romance Studies is home to the study of Romance languages at Tufts. We offer courses in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Our courses lead students to an understanding of the spoken or written language, and provide opportunities to focus on culture and literature.
Undergraduate Programs
We offer undergraduate majors and minors in French, Spanish and Italian, as well as a minor in Portuguese. Our graduates go on to careers in diverse fields such as banking, business, medicine, and teaching. Many students also go on to further graduate study in Romance languages and other fields and are frequently admitted to the most prestigious graduate programs.
