Rose Facchini

Rose Facchini holds an MA in Italian Literary Studies from the Italian Language School at Middlebury College and an MA in International Relations from Salve Regina University. She is an Associate Editor and the Italian Translator Editor for the International Poetry Review (University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Her main research focuses on the intersection between Italian studies and environmental humanities with a focus on climate change and foodways. She also explores how Italy imagines the rapidly changing landscape through speculative fiction, and how this correlates in the real world with policymaking and sociocultural adjustments. She has received several fellowships and grants, including the Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace and the Katharine Bakeless Nason Endowment. A former participant in the Bread Loaf Translators' Conference, her translations have either appeared or are forthcoming in Asymptote, West Branch, ergot., Exacting Clam, Wyldblood, 365tomorrows, Intrinsick, and the International Poetry Review. Her non-fiction work appears in the peer-reviewed journal Military Medicine. She has received several fellowships and grants, most notably the Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace and the Katharine Bakeless Nason Endowment. Facchini has experience teaching the Italian language, Italian history through film, and Italian literature.
