Malissa Beckles (she/her) is from Newton, MA. She is interested in race and ethnicity and criminology. Her favorite sociology class that she has taken has been Race & the Criminal Justice System.
Louise Bond
Louise Bond (she/her) is a junior co-majoring in Sociology and Civic Studies, with a minor in Spanish. Her main academic interests are in carceral studies, sociology of race, punishment, and law, with great interest in studying Marxist sociology and the impact of religion on modern society. Her favorite Tufts sociology classes are The Masculine Mystique, Sociology of Law, and Sociological Theory.
Billy Lee Buccella
Billy Lee Buccella (he/him) is a Sophomore majoring in Sociology from Minneapolis, MN. He is interested in studying the sociology of race, class, and sociological research methods. His favorite Tufts sociology class is Sociology of Asian Americans with Professor Warikoo.
Max Greenstein
Max Greenstein (they/them) is a junior majoring in Sociology with minors in Political Science and English. They are interested in political sociology, urban sociology, and social science research. Their favorite sociology classes have been Sociology of Mental Health/Illness, Gender and Society, and Sociological Theory.
Alex Lin
Alex Lin (he/him) is a sophomore majoring in Sociology with a minor in Entrepreneurship for Social Impact. His academic interests span immigration, organizational studies, education, subculture, and autoethnography. His favorite course is Education, Diversity, and Justice, and he is currently working on his research project on the publication pressure faced by sociology academics in their early career stages.
Unmani Tewari
Unmani Tewari (she/they) is a sophomore in the combined degree program with SMFA. She is majoring in Sociology (with a potential cluster in data analytics) and specializing in graphic arts. My main academic interests is human behavior with the intersection of media and culture. Her favorite sociology class has been Immigration, Race and US Society and is looking forward to so many more in the coming semesters like Sociological theory and Unmasking masculinities.
Nika Lea Tomicic
Nika Lea Tomicic (she/her) is a junior majoring in Sociology and STS (Science, Technology, and Society). Nika Lea is interested in bridging the gap between technological innovation and its global implications using social science research. She is interested in urban sociology, sociology’s intersections with the STS field, and applying research methods to a nonprofit, union, and other real-world initiatives. Her favorite Sociology classes are Sociology of Culture and Media and Society.
