Minor in Environmental Science and Policy

This minor is for engineering majors only and is designed to give them greater exposure to natural and social sciences, thereby deepening their understanding of the causes of and solutions to problems related to environmental sustainability. The minor focuses on the integration of knowledge and approaches from different fields for the preservation and improvement of the environment.

The faculty advisor for this minor is Dr. John Durant (john.durant@tufts.edu).

Program Policies and Requirements

Students minoring in Environmental Science and Policy may:

  • double-count up to up to two courses between the minor and a major
  • count up to one (approved) class taken abroad
  • use up to one (approved) Experimental College class toward this minor
  • petition classes not listed in the minor's website in order to fulfill degree requirements (see ENVS Academic Policies)
  • only use classes that are at least 3 credits
