Anemone Acropolis

Location: Washington Coast

On the Washington coast, tide pools create pockets of life in which sea creatures can thrive until the tide comes back in. This gives these anemones the opportunity to photosynthesize thanks to their symbiotic relationship with certain types of algae, all the while guarded by an army of mussel sentries.

2nd prize ($100): Jack Rogen, Community Health and Political Science
