Offering more than 22 doctoral programs and 30 master's degree programs – from Art History to Physics – and opportunities to teach and mentor some of the brightest undergraduates in the country.
Return to Tufts Program
If you are a current senior or recent undergraduate alumni interested in a Graduate School of Arts and Sciences master's program, you may be eligible for the Return to Tufts degree program. Benefits include: tuition scholarships, streamlined application process, GRE requirement is waived, and only two letters of recommendation are required.
Fletcher Degree Programs
The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy offers a range of professional degrees in international affairs. Fletcher BA/MALD Combined Degree Program
The combined bachelor's (BA/BS) and MALD degree program provides an opportunity for a limited number of highly qualified Tufts undergraduates to earn both the bachelor's degree in their selected major and the MALD degree upon completion of a total of five to six years of study.
The Fletcher School Map Your Future Program
Are you a senior interested in attending the Fletcher School a few years after graduation? If so, you have the option of applying to the Map Your Future Program which guarantees admitted applicants a place in the MALD or MIB programs after completing two to three years of professional work experience in a Fletcher-approved position.

Diplomat in Residence
The Tufts Diplomat in Residence (DIR) Program is a collaborative effort between the Tufts International Relations Program, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and the U.S. Department of State, providing students unique access to a resident expert on careers in diplomacy. Tufts' DIR is one of only 16 senior Foreign Service Officers of the State Department placed in select universities across the country. The DIR can provide students with advice on State Department internships, taking the Foreign Service Exam, and other means of preparing for a diplomatic career.
The current Diplomat-In-Residence for the New England Region is Michelle Kayser. Michelle Kayser is a career Foreign Service Officer with 12 years of experience in a number of assignments and regions within the U.S. Department of State. Michelle is currently serving as the Diplomat-In-Residence for the New England region. She is responsible for recruiting the best and brightest candidates from diverse backgrounds within Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont for U.S. Department of State career and student program opportunities. She began her assignment in June 2022.
Michelle previously served as the Political Unit Chief and the Equal Employment Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland from June 2019 until May 2022. Previously, she served as the European Union Desk Officer in the Office of the European Union and Regional Affairs at the Department of State. Prior to this, she served as a Staff Assistant in the Executive Secretariat of the Department of State. Her other overseas assignments included a tour as the Environment, Science, Technology and Health Officer and Consular Officer in Buenos Aires, Argentina and as General Services Officer and Post Security Officer in Bangui, Central African Republic.
Michelle has a Master's in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. Mrs. Kayser is a native of Vermont and is married with a newborn.
