Campaign for Bus Rapid Transit in Worcester

Tufts’ Urban Attitudes Lab joins with Worcester non-profit organizations to campaign for Bus Rapid Transit

Tufts students and faculty are partnering with a coalition of community groups on an initiative to bring better public transit to New England’s new biggest city, Worcester, Massachusetts. The Riders Action Council, Worcester Caribbean American Carnival Association (WACA), Strong Towns Worcester, the Center for Living and Working, and the Urban Attitudes Lab at Tufts are all seeking support for Bus Rapid Transit for the city. This new transit system is both feasible and relatively cheap in its construction, and would mean regular, reliable, and fast public transit that can connect Worcester’s neighborhoods and make it easier for residents to get to work and school; connect with Amtrak or MBTA service to Boston; and go almost anywhere.
