More Data More Depth

The data analytics field is rapidly expanding, and skilled individuals are in high demand. Projections are that this demand will continue into 2030 and beyond. The May 2018 report by McKinsey Global Institute entitled Skill Shift Automation and the Future of the Workforce states that the top three areas with the largest skill shortages today are data analytics, IT/mobile/web design, and R&D. The report also concludes that, as the use of AI expands, the demand for individuals with advanced data analytical skills will grow—even as much as 25% by 2030.

Tufts new MS in Data Analytics program is designed to develop flexible leaders with advanced data analytical skills, who will be able to apply an in-depth knowledge of statistics, probability, and data analysis across a broad range of fields. Electives will allow students to expand their knowledge and skills within a chosen field, and to develop the professional skills in communication, data visualization and critical thinking that employers seek.
