Advisory Board

The Data Analytics program's advisory board provides the program with critical input and apprises leadership of current trends in Data Analytics spaces. The board advises on the curriculum to ensure that the program includes relevant courses in the practical skills that are sought after in the field. The board meets twice a semester to share networking opportunities, career development advice, and insight on what Data Analytics supervisors are looking for in their candidate pool. They invite an open line of communication with Data Analytics students looking for resources within their fields.

Ryan is a seasoned strategic leader who drives digital transformation across retail, consumer, and digital businesses. As Senior Director Commercial Insights at PUMA North America, he oversees the design and execution of data-driven strategies that guide leadership from frontline operations to boardroom priorities. Over the last decade, his efforts have saved more than 2 million enterprise hours and generated more than $300 million in sales.

With extensive expertise at the intersection of analytics, technology, and organizational change, Ryan excels at translating complex data into actionable commercial insights. He is known for building scalable analytics capabilities and designing sustainable processes that support long-term growth. A mentor at heart, Ryan takes pride in developing analytics talent and embedding a data‑driven culture that empowers teams and delivers consistent business value.

Talia Bigelow

Talia Bigelow

Talia is a Principal Program Manager for the Enterprise Technology Learning and Development team at Fidelity, with a focus for over 10 years on leading data strategy including model creation, analysis and synthesis. Her career has broadened in order to facilitate better usage of data in problem and change management, with a focus in problem solving across teams to enable reinvention through experimentation. Her recent expertise is in User Experience and she has been guiding teams in applying an iterative process to test and learn in an ambiguous environment. She also facilitates prioritization coordination across multiple squads on strategic initiatives and creates deployment and communications plans. Talia is also a Marine Ecologist with a focus in Policy by training, and studied the impact of oil spills on lobster populations off New England coasts for her Masters degree. For her first several years of her career she edited and composed management plans including Environmental Impact Statements, which was the culmination of compiled and analyzed fisheries, environmental, biological, socio-economic and other technical data.

Shaheen Gauher

Shaheen Gauher

Director of Data Science and AI, Anthem

Dr. Shaheen Gauher is a Data Scientist. She helps businesses build and deploy predictive solutions to best leverage their data and empowers businesses to achieve more. At CVS Health, Shaheen is working towards developing AI enabled delivery of healthcare to make the healthcare system more efficient and effective. Before that, Shaheen worked at Microsoft where she developed Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools to create real world solutions for enterprises across verticals both on premise and in cloud. She is a climate scientist and physicist by training. For her PhD she studied the impact of anthropogenic pollution on climate using satellite data. Her academic experience has strongly shaped her views on climate change and STEM education.

Ari Hamalian

Executive Director | Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS)

Ari Hamalian is an Executive Director at Bristol Myers Squibb, where he leads IT Risk Operations and Supplier Resilience supporting a global pharmaceutical enterprise. His work focuses on applying data and analytics, as well as advanced AI solutions, to risk assessment, governance, and decision-making in complex, regulated environments that support business continuity and enable the delivery of medicines to patients. Ari brings industry perspective on the practical application of analytics at scale and advises the Data Analytics program on workforce-relevant skills and emerging industry needs. He holds BS degrees in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from Tufts University, an MS degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management. 

Andrew Therriault

Andrew Therriault

Andrew Therriault has been a leader in public sector data science for more than a decade, including serving as the City of Boston's first Chief Data Officer, as the Democratic National Committee's Director of Data Science, and as co-founder of Civin, a civic tech startup that provided analytic tools and services to local governments. He is currently the VP of Data Science at Zencity, a technology company that helps local governments understand and engage with their residents.Therriault has also worked on infrastructure data science at Meta, consulted for governments and nonprofits such as the United Nations, the State of Massachusetts, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, and taught data science at Harvard and Northeastern. He received his doctorate in political science from New York University.
