Vanessa C. John (Political Science, American Studies, and FMS, 2028) and Denise K. Cummings presented the paper, “Fancy Dance: The Echoes of Colonialism and Indigenous Resilience,” at the 2025 Association for the Studies in American Indian Literatures (ASAIL) Virtual Conference on April 3, 2025. The theme of this year’s international conference is "Indigenous Gothic, Ghosts, & Speculative Fiction.” The paper was part of a panel entitled, “Another Kind of Haunting: Film, Ghosts, and Demystification.”
