Biography

Pamela Corkey is a WGA screenwriter and indie filmmaker. She studied undergraduate film at Boston University and earned her M.F.A. in writing and directing from the American Film Institute residency program. Ms. Corkey has made two feature films and nine shorts. Her directorial debut, Easy Listening, premiered at Slamdance and went on to a successful festival run, winning two Best Feature awards and one for Best New Director before its release in 2003. Her original screenplay, Cornboy, was adapted as a graphic novel in 2011 by Dynamite Entertainment. Her last comedy short, Showstopper, premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2013 and won awards at Sidewalk, Women in Film, and UFVA. She has optioned and sold several original screenplays, most recently the 2020 Netflix series Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love. She has taught screenwriting and film production at Emerson College, Savannah College of Art and Design, and Hofstra University before joining the faculty at Tufts.
