Biography
Mary Davis is an associate professor in the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning. She received her PhD in economics from the University of Florida, and her BA from the University of Miami. She has held research appointments at the Harvard School of Public Health, University of Maine, University of Massachusetts Boston, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Boston University.
Professor Davis' research is broadly focused on environmental health issues, including air pollution, occupational health, children's health, and biostatistics. Current and past projects include gig economy health effects, performance pay, occupational hazards in the developing world, recessions and human health, and air quality and transportation.
She teaches a range of urban planning and policy courses at UEP, including economics, public health, built environment, and statistics, and is known for her innovative teaching practices, including a poetry project.
