Minor in Arabic
The Minor in Arabic is intended for students interested in learning the Arabic language and increasing their knowledge of the Arab world and its cultures.

Program Requirements and Policies
- Six courses are required for the Minor in Arabic.
- You are allowed to transfer one level-equivalent language course and one culture course from any Abroad Program. Accepted transfer of credit courses that are fundamentally language study courses (e.g. colloquial/dialect courses or language courses on discrete topics such as "Media Arabic") will not be accepted as satisfying the culture course requirements.
- If ARB 51 is taken, it must be taken twice.
- Minor Forms, once submitted, will be sent to the Program Director, Alexandra Shraytekh, for approval. After it has been approved, you will receive a copy of the approved form. Submit the approved checklist along with your Student Degree Audit and any additional signed major and /or minor checklists to Student Services through the electronic submission portal.
- If substitutions are made, it is the student’s responsibility to make sure the substitutions are acceptable to the Department of International Literary & Cultural Studies.

Course Requirements
The minor in Arabic requires six courses as follows:
- Four Arabic language courses above the intermediate level (Arabic 4), which can include one Colloquial Arabic course.
- Two Arabic literature or culture courses taught in either English or Arabic.
