Low Enrollment Policy

Please note that Tufts has instituted a low-enrollment policy which means that classes with an enrollment of fewer than six students may have to be cancelled. In that case, the Department will make every effort to suggest an alternative section or course.

Language Placement Exams

Placement exams are given at the beginning of the fall semester. The following faculty administers these exams:

• Arabic: Rana Abdul-Aziz
• Chinese: Mingquan Wang
• German: Saskia Stoessel
• Hebrew: Hedda Harari-Spencer
• Japanese: Kiyomi Kagawa
• Russian: Marina Aptekman

Language Requirement

If you want to place out of the language requirement (e.g. if you attended high school abroad), please contact your Academic Dean.
